HSD Biography

Almost all musicians know what a "half step down" is, simply tuning everything half a step down. We tuned down to better fit the vocal range of a younger frontman and although this is no longer our practice, the name stuck. After several failed attempts finding a bassist, we finally solidified our sound in the spring of "05" and haven't looked back. Half Step Down's shows are known for thier party like atmosphere, we play plenty of songs you can dance to, plus we do fun stuff like "Hands to yourself"-Georgia Sat. and "She hates me"-Puddle of Mud, as well as our newer rock covers from bands like Nickleback, Bush, 7 Mary 3 and more. Half Step Down Suffered a huge loss in November of 2007 when our rhythm guitar player Brian Rowe passed away unexpectedly. When the question arose whether or not to continue, the answer was clear. We have pressed on and now find that we play with not just talent and experiance, but also with heart.
